Volunteering Through the Years: Tom Thousand
We are so grateful for the volunteers who have made our work at MOM possible for 40 years. To celebrate MOM's 40th anniversary, we're sharing a few stories from some of our most dedicated long-time volunteers. Here are some of Tom Thousand's memories of volunteering at MOM:
I started volunteering for MOM in 2010 after I retired from my regular job. I owned Harbor Arms Apartments. MOM would help out some of the tenants there with rent and security deposits so I thought I should help MOM out by volunteering. I started out by picking up food from Scott’s Bakery about three days a week and delivering it to MOM which was in the industrial park at that time. Then probably five years ago, I started giving rides to folks also. It’s been a rewarding experience to help out. I think MOM is a great organization that provides a needed service to the Middleton area. I also helped out some folks with home repairs when needed. Volunteering has been very rewarding for me.
