Help End Hunger By Donating Your Old Wool Sweaters
Doing some spring cleaning? Donate your old 100% wool sweaters. ReMitts will make these into warm winter mittens which will be sold to benefit MOM and other organizations fighting hunger.
ReMitts are now famously associated with Bernie Sanders memes. But did you know that ReMitts started here in Madison in 2009? Janet Tupy came up with the idea to repurpose old sweaters into mittens, then donate the money to local food pantries. Last year ReMitts shattered their fundraising goal, raising over $100,000! MOM received $25,000 of that. You can help by donating your old 100% wool sweaters as well as buttons. You can drop them off:
1) At MOM during our clothing drop-off hours in bags clearly labeled "ReMitts": Monday from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. or Wednesday from 2-4 p.m.
2) At the ReMitt workshop located at Grace Lutheran Church (1 S Rosa Road) on Tuesdays between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
