Gateway Community Church Keeps MOM's Shelves Stocked

Gateway Community Church Keeps MOM's Shelves Stocked
August 21, 2019 Food PantryChurches

Gateway Community Church in Middleton has supported MOM monthly for many years.  Mikee Engelhard began what is known as the Food Buyer’s Club at his church. He helps to collect monthly funds from fellow parishioners and order food from Piggly Wiggly of Cross Plains from MOM’s TOP 10, most needed items.

Travis Haack, Piggly Wiggly manager works to find the best deals so that the donated funds are stretched, maximizing Gateway’s giving!

MOM volunteer food rescue driver’s then pick up this valuable donation and because these are TOP 10 needs, our stockers work to immediately fill MOM shelves upon arrival.

The August monthly Gateway/Piggly Wiggly/MOM partnership will provide much desired tortillas (corn and flour!), oats, flour, sugar, 2 kinds of pasta, and coconut. So far in 2019, these monthly donations have totaled 7,543 pounds of most needed foods, roughly 1,000 lbs. a month.

Great things happen when we work together.  Thank you to all involved!
