Star Wars Food Drive Benefits Families

Thanks to Fairway Independent Mortgage for hosting a creative and fun food drive to benefit MOM and help feed families in our community. The event, a Star Wars movie morning, was designed as a way to show appreciation to their clients. Owner Mike and employee Monica, decided to turn the gratitude event into further kindness by collecting food as their guests entered the theater. Middleton Outreach received 110 pounds of food collected for just 1 hour prior to the movie. What a great idea! Hy-Vee's One Step Program Feeds Local Families

Our partners at Hy-Vee provide assistance to both MOM and Second Harvest to help increase food security for people in our community through their One Step program. When customers purchase these One Step products, a portion of the proceeds is donated to "help feed people who are unable to feed themselves. It's one small step, one meal at a time."

Standard Imaging Volunteers Make a Difference

For any business, time is money. So imagine a business finding the time to allow an employee to be out of the office one afternoon each week, all year round. Standard Imaging has done just that every week for the past 382 weeks—since September of 2010. They have accumulated hundreds of hours of volunteer service. A commitment like this demonstrates to us at MOM that Standard Imaging has a work culture of volunteering and that making an impact for good in their community is one of their priorities.

MOM awarded $1,000 as part of Old National Bank’s Choose Your Charity Giveaway

MOM received a $1,000 check from Old National Bank’s Choose Your Charity Giveaway thanks to community voting. Over a six-week period, people could vote online or at a Wisconsin Old National Bank branch for their favorite charity. Out of the thousands of nonprofits across the state, the 45 who got the most votes received a $1,000 check. MOM was one of these.

Partnerships Provide Nutritious Options to MOM Clients

A partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Extension and Willy Street Co-Op is providing MOM clients with new skills and tools to prepare nutritious meals for their families. Thanks to their FoodWIse and Pantries of Plenty (POP) programs more families in our community can enjoy healthy food this winter.

Back to School 2017

On Thursday, August 24 and Friday, August 25, 600 children from around the West Madison, Middleton and Cross Plains areas received a backpack full of school supplies thanks to the community, giving them a boost of confidence on their upcoming first day of school. In its 18th year, the School Supply program provides school-aged children, teens, and back-to-school adults with items that they will need to help them be successful in the upcoming year.

Curve Shop, a local plus-size pop-up consignment sale, recently made a donation of over 800 pounds of wonderful, high-quality plus-sized clothing to the Clothing Center. After the Curve Shop sale, consignors had the ability to donate their unsold items directly to MOM.
