Individual Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the heart of MOM and vital to the success of our programs. Listed below are our current volunteer opportunities for Individuals who are able to volunteer on an on-going basis. Volunteer Opportunity:

Front Desk Reception - Main Office

Our Main Office Front Desk reception volunteers answer phones, greet and help with client walk-ins and other inquiries, assist with client programs, schedule client appointments, help with general office work at our Main Office, accept donations when the adjacent Distribution Center is closed. Training provided by "shadowing" with an experienced volunteer. Click on "Show More" button below for prerequisites and which days/times are available.

Cleaners/Sweepers

Join several other volunteers and help Clean and Sweep the Food Pantry after it closes on Tuesdays or Thursdays, from 1:30-3:30 or  2-4 pm, so that it shines when we re-open for client shopping the next morning. Join other volunteers and wipe food counter-tops, sweep and mop floors, straighten up client waiting area and volunteer room, etc.

Clothing Center

Have a passion for fashion? Help sort donations and hang clothing at the Clothing Center. Help keep our clothes shopping area appealing for the over 200 people who shop there monthly.

Food Pantry - Client Host

Assist MOM clients through the food pantry aisles as they shop for food. Training provided. Click on "Show More" button below for prerequisites and which days/times are most available. *High priority on Saturday mornings.

Home Chores for Seniors

Help senior citizens maintain household independence by providing help with home chores. Help once or twice a month. This is a great volunteer opportunity for an individual volunteer, a family, or older high school students!

Transportation for Seniors

Help Seniors maintain independence by providing an occasional ride in a timely, courteous, and friendly manner. Volunteer once a week or once a month, whichever fits into your schedule! Weekdays only.

Pantry Gardener

Work with MOM clients and other volunteers in the MOM Food Pantry gardens, from spring through fall months. Attend work sessions to assist client gardeners in planting and maintaining their gardens. Tentative sessions scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. Gardening experience helpful but not necessary.

Food Pantry - Inventory Support on Fridays

Join a great group of MOM volunteers! Help process and sort our Friday weekly delivery from Second Harvest Foodbank, late morning through early afternoon. Ensure that food pantry shelves are organized and well stocked with a variety of items. Sort food from deliveries, donations, and food rescue from area merchants. Training provided. Limited heavy lifting required, but ability to stand for 2-3 hours.
