MOM's Parking Lot is Completed!
A huge thank you to everyone who gave so generously to the Al Ripp Memorial Fund and made MOM’s safe, new parking lot a reality. When MOM moved into our building in 2013, our goal was to fix the parking lot as soon as possible. By doing so, we would be preserving the investment in our buildings, therefore honoring all of the donors who gave so much to make them a reality. Over the last few years, it had become increasingly clear that the parking lot was a safety concern for clients, volunteers and visitors. Water damage, combined with heavy usage by cars and semi-trucks, had made the parking lot an urgent issue.
Now, thanks to many, the parking lot is completed and ready to be safely used by everyone. On the morning of Monday, September 25, we not only welcomed the first Second Harvest of SW Wisconsin truck, but we celebrated by accepting food and personal care donations that were collected by Al Ripp’s extended family.
Special thanks to the following businesses who either donated parts of their services, or who made an extra commitment to getting the project done expeditiously so we could minimize the disruption to our services:
D'Onfrio Kottke and Associates (Bruce Hollar)
T5 Real Estate Solutions (Tim Carey)
Findorff (Brian Hornung)
Olson Toon Landscaping
CGC, Inc. (Mike Schultz)
Westphal & Company
We also want to thank the Ripp Family, the Middleton Cross Plains Area School District, and all of the volunteers who helped us operate the mobile food pantries and case management offsite, and everyone who supported MOM during the closure. We look forward to serving the community through this building over many years to come.
