Kids Support Mom Too!
It warms our hearts to see the many ways area children give back to the community by supporting MOM. Food drives, lemonade stands, birthday donations in lieu of gifts—we are honored to be the recipient of the generous support of so many children.
Throughout the year, Boy and Girl Scout troops offer support to MOM. To say thanks, MOM hosted Scout Day on Saturday, March 10. Girl Scouts were invited to drop off their annual Cookie Share Cookies that day. (The special Cookie Share cookies are for purchase by customers with the intent that troops donate the proceeds to an area charity). Also, again this year, the Dane County Dairy Promotions Committee joined with local Girl Scouts to match a gallon of milk for each Cookie Share cookie box sold. Last year MOM received 960 gallons of milk due to this partnership. That’s a lot of cookies and milk. Yum!
The local chapter of the National Charity League provides volunteer support weekly in both MOM’s Clothing Closet and Food Pantry. Mother/daughter teams were available March 10 to share their MOM volunteer experiences and conduct tours for the Scouts, offering leadership opportunities for our local youth. Thanks to everyone who participated and showed support for MOM’s mission to end hunger. And thank you to all the great kids, who care about one another and give so generously of their talent and treasure.
