Help for Seniors Preventing Homelessness
Research shows that people who remain in their homes live longer, happier lives.
The Seniors Program keeps Seniors (age 60+) independent by providing several services:
Transportation and Shopping Assistance
Rides are given to and from appointments, as well as the grocery store and other necessary places.
Home Chore Assistance
Groups and individuals give Seniors seasonal assistance to help with upkeep of their homes. This necessary program gives Seniors help with raking, spring cleaning and more.
Customers of the Seniors Program do not need to be income qualified. The only qualification to receive these services is the age requirement.
In 2010, volunteers for the Seniors Program served 200 seniors, donating over 3,000 hours. Over a thousand rides were given and 100 home chore projects completed.

A Hero with a Heart
The pocks of adversity she faces don't show through her sweet smile and selfless devotion. Every Monday morning since 2006, Anita Poehlman and her son, Curtis, pull up to the MOM distribution center, their car loaded with food donated from the local grocery store. They dutifully unload the bags and boxes, always bringing a warm "hello" without interrupting the bustle of the busy food pantry.
